My Story

As a small child, I was raised in a family deeply involved with Jehovah’s Witnesses, a community that places little value on formal education. Growing up on the less privileged side of town, I was taught from a young age to sell religious material from the Watchtower organization. Life was challenging, and I learned to survive on the streets and in the projects where I resided. Despite my formal education ending after my eighth grade graduation and leaving home at fourteen, I carried with me a determination to make the world a better place while educating myself every chance I would find. Although my childhood dream of becoming a cardiologist never saw fruition, I found success in a career in sales and have thrived. Writing has become an outlet for me to express my history without reliving the hardships, as I choose to view my past as a series of lessons that have led me to this wonderful moment in life. Through determination and self-education, I have forged my own path and found fulfillment in unexpected ways. My journey has been one of resilience, self-discovery, and the relentless pursuit of personal growth. While my early years may have been challenging, they have shaped me into the person I am today—a person who has learned to turn adversity into opportunity and who continues to seek wisdom and joy in every experience. My story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the ability to find strength in the face of adversity.
